Ewing Township, NJ, On January 2, 2025, the Ewing Township police responded to multiple calls of heavy smoke and flames coming from a multi-unit complex located on Lower Ferry Road. When officers arrived, they learned that there was a young child entrapped on the fourth floor. Responders were able to locate the child, who was unresponsive at the time, and transport them to the Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where he sadly passed away from injuries suffered. It was reported that a total of 13 police officers, 1 firefighter, and 3 residents were treated for minor burns, smoke inhalation, and exhaustion. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but investigators do not believe the fire to be suspicious at this time. PHL17’s Tyrone Sharper gives a live report.
